Clinical Protocol: Polynucleotides for Eyes
Pre-Treatment Safety, Expectations & Aftercare.
Realistic Expectations
Patience Required
Treating the under-eye area requires patience.
The Worse Before Better Phase: Because the eye area is so fragile, you will likely look tired (puffy or bruised) for a few days after treatment. You must trust the process.
Dark Circles: If your dark circles are caused by hyper-pigmentation (stained skin), this treatment will help quality but may not fully erase the colour. If they are caused by thin skin showing vessels, this treatment is highly effective.
The Timeline:
Treatment 1: Hydration improves.
Treatment 2: Skin begins to thicken. Dark circles may soften.
Treatment 3: Peak result. The area looks brighter and stronger.
Immediate Side Effects
Puffiness: This is the most common side effect. The product draws water. You may look like you have been crying or had a bad night's sleep for 24-48 hours. Sleeping with an extra pillow to elevate your head helps reduce this.
Bruising: The under-eye is extremely vascular. Even with the most delicate technique, bruising is a 50/50 risk. These bruises can sometimes be dark and take 7-10 days to fade. Concealer can be worn after 24 hours.
The Bumps: You may see small bumps where the product was placed for the first 24 hours.
Adverse Reactions
Allergy Warning (Fish): As with the face treatment, if you have a fish allergy, you cannot have this treatment.
Prolonged Oedema: Very rarely, in clients with poor lymphatic drainage, puffiness can persist for longer than 48 hours.
The Aftercare Rulebook
To ensure the best recovery for this delicate area:
Do NOT rub your eyes.
Do NOT apply makeup or concealer for 24 hours (infection risk is high near the eye).
Do NOT sleep face down.
Do NOT use active skincare (Retinol/Acids) near the eyes for 3 days.
Do NOT wear swimming goggles for 1 week.
