Realistic Expectations

Coverage vs Correction

It is vital to understand that BB Glow is a tint, not a mask.

Sheer Coverage: This treatment provides light-to-medium coverage, similar to a tinted moisturiser or BB cream. It will not cover deep scars or dark birthmarks entirely. It blurs them.

The Timeline:

Day 1: Your skin will look glowing and perfectly even.

Day 2-4: You may experience some dryness as the skin exfoliates.

Day 7: The initial intensity settles into a natural glow.

Immediate Side Effects

Dryness: Because we have exfoliated the skin to implant the serum, your face may feel tight and dry for a few days.

Redness: Those with sensitive skin may look slightly pink immediately after the treatment, though the pigment usually disguises this well.

Flaking: Minor flaking can occur around the nose and mouth. Do not pick this, or you will remove the pigment unevenly.

Adverse Reactions

Important Laser Warning:

BB Glow serums contain Titanium Dioxide (the ingredient that provides the coverage). You cannot have laser hair removal or IPL on your face if you have BB Glow pigment in your skin. The laser can react with the titanium dioxide and turn the pigment black/grey. You must inform any future laser technician that you have had this treatment.

Allergy: As with any product, there is a risk of reaction to the serum ingredients.

The Aftercare Rulebook

To ensure the pigment lasts:

  1. Do NOT wash your face for 24 hours. The serum needs time to set.

  2. Do NOT use makeup for 24 hours.

  3. Do NOT use exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs) or Retinol for 1 week (this will strip the colour).

  4. Do NOT use saunas or steam rooms for 48 hours.

  5. SPF 50 IS MANDATORY. UV light will fade the pigment rapidly.
