Realistic Expectations

The Detox Effect

Just like a facial, treating the back can trigger changes.

The Purge: If you suffer from congestion on your back, you may experience a small breakout a few days after treatment. This is the deep impurities coming to the surface. It is a sign the detox is working.

Smoothness: The primary result is textural. Your skin will feel significantly smoother and softer immediately.

Immediate Side Effects

Redness: The back is a large surface area with significant blood flow. Mechanical exfoliation and steam will leave the skin looking pink for 1-2 hours.

Sensitivity: The skin may feel tender to the touch, particularly if extractions were performed.

The Aftercare Rulebook

The skin on your back is prone to friction, which can cause irritation after a facial.

  1. Wear Loose Clothing: Please wear a loose cotton shirt to your appointment. Tight sports bras or synthetic fabrics will rub against the fresh skin and can cause folliculitis (spots).

  2. Do NOT go to the gym for 24 hours. Sweat and bacteria entering open pores on the back is the number one cause of "bacne."

  3. Do NOT use harsh body scrubs for 7 days.

  4. Do NOT use a sunbed. The skin has been exfoliated and will burn easily.
