Clinical Protocol: Wellness Injections
Pre-Treatment Safety, Expectations & Aftercare.
Realistic Expectations
Supplement, Not Substitute
These injections are designed to support a healthy lifestyle, not replace it.
The Energy Shift: If your fatigue is caused by B12 deficiency, you will likely feel a significant lift in energy. If your fatigue is caused by lack of sleep or stress, the result will be subtler.
Hair & Nails: Biotin strengthens the new growth. It cannot repair hair that is already dead and split at the ends. You will see the results at the root. Expect to wait 3 months (a hair growth cycle) to see the full benefit.
The Urine Change: Because these vitamins are water-soluble, your body flushes out what it doesn't use. You may notice your urine is a brighter colour for 24 hours. This is normal.
Immediate Side Effects
Injection Site Pain: Intramuscular injections go deep into the muscle. Your arm may feel heavy or sore (like a dead arm) for 24 hours.
Stinging: B12 is a large molecule and can sting as it enters the tissue.
Acne Breakouts: In rare cases, high doses of Biotin can trigger a mild acne breakout as the body adjusts. This usually subsides quickly.
Adverse Reactions & Contraindications
Kidney Function: If you have kidney disease or renal failure, you cannot have this treatment. Your kidneys are responsible for processing these vitamins, and we cannot overload them.
Medication Interactions: Certain medications (such as anti-epileptics or certain antibiotics) can interact with absorption. You must disclose your full medical history.
Pregnancy: While vitamins are essential, I do not treat pregnant clients without written GP consent.
The Aftercare Rulebook
To ensure optimal absorption:
Drink plenty of water. Hydration helps transport the vitamins through the body.
Keep the injection site clean.
Do NOT massage the area if it feels tender.
Move the arm. Keeping the muscle moving helps disperse the liquid and reduces stiffness.
